Scope of service

Short-Term Residence Permit

Open to a wide range of applicants — from scientific researchers and tourists to property owners and entrepreneurs. Typically issued for up to 2 years at a time.

Core Requirements

Submission of information and documents supporting the purpose of stay in Türkiye.
Accommodation that meets general health and safety standards.
Criminal record certificate (when requested).
Declaration of the address where you will reside in Türkiye.

Family Residence Permit

Issued to the spouse, minor children, and dependent foreign children of a Turkish citizen or of a foreign national holding a residence permit in Türkiye. The duration may not exceed 3 years at a time.

Core Requirements

For the supporter: health insurance covering all family members, income not below the minimum wage, and no offences against the family order in the last 5 years.
For the applicant: proof of cohabitation with the supporter, both spouses being at least 18, and showing the marriage was not solely for the purpose of obtaining the permit.

Student Residence Permit

For foreign nationals enrolled in a Turkish higher education institution (associate, bachelor's, master's, doctoral). May also be issued to foreign nationals at primary or secondary schools who do not hold a family residence permit.

Core Requirements

Active student certificate from the institution where you will study.
Declaration of the address where you will reside in Türkiye.
Statement/document showing the ability to support yourself throughout your studies.

Long-Term Residence Permit

Granted indefinitely, with Ministry approval, to foreign nationals who have continuously held a residence permit in Türkiye for at least 8 years.

Core Requirements

Not having received social aid in the last 3 years.
Having a regular and sufficient income.
Holding valid health insurance.
Not posing a threat to public order or security.

Residence Permit Renewal

Renewal must be filed 60 days before the current permit expires. Updated versions of the prior application file and notification of any changes are required.
